Stow Parish Council - Vacancy for Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer

Stow Parish Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated person to appoint as a Clerk & Responsible Financial Officer to undertake the duties of Proper Officer to the council. 

This is a varied and interesting role within the local community requiring a ‘can do’ attitude, the ability to work on your own initiative, with a good range of skills and a sense of humour. 

You will be dealing with enquiries from members of the public, answering the telephone, responding to post and email communications, updating website, accounting for income and expenditure and liaising with Councillors. Attendance is required at PC meetings every 2 months which take place in the evenings.

Applicants will need to have a good standard of written and spoken English, experience of managing finances, experience using Microsoft Office applications and be willing to attend training and study for appropriate qualifications. Consideration will be given to applicants with or without local authority knowledge and experience.

The post is permanent, part-time 12-15 hours per month, home based. The salary is dependent on experience but will be within the local government scale recommended for Parish Clerks and is subject to annual review along nationally agreed and published guidelines.
