About Us
Lincolnshire Association of Local Councils is a not-for-profit membership organisation representing, training and advising the local (town and parish) councils of Lincolnshire, who form the grass-roots tier of local government in England.
We work with 42 similar organisations across England and Wales and with the National Association of Local Councils and with Boston Borough Council, East Lindsey, North Kesteven, South Holland, South Kesteven and West Lindsey district councils and Lincolnshire County Council to support our local councils.
LALC sustains a positive working relationship with the Lincolnshire branch of the Society of Local Council Clerks (SLCC).
Our Services
What do we offer to member councils?
Our protocol is to work with the Clerk to the council and where necessary the Chair of the Parish/Town Council. Other members of council should contact their own Clerk first.
We can provide support for a wide range of areas including legislation, council meetings and business, finance, employment and data protection. We offer training for clerks and councillors, and services such as internal audit, mentoring, locums and website maintenance.
Who we are
How we are funded
LALC is funded by member council subscriptions plus additional training income and an annual grant awarded by Lincolnshire County Council.
Membership
Nearly all parish councils in Lincolnshire, together with some parish meetings are members of the County Association. This means that their voice is heard collectively on local issues and at national level. All local councils in Lincolnshire and some just outside the county may join.
