Great Gonerby Parish Council - Vacancy for a Clerk/RFO
Great Gonerby Parish Council seeks a motivated, enthusiastic person to take on the role of Clerk to the Council and Responsible Financial Officer (RFO). The Parish Council has circa 1800 villagers on the electoral roll with 11 councillors. The Council is a responsible for a memorial hall and 2 burial grounds.
The post is part time, 12 hours per week with 10 monthly evening meetings a year. Working from home, the hours of work are flexible except for attendance at meetings. Authorized overtime is payable as the role demands.
The applicant will have use of a council laptop but expenses will be paid for other equipment, such as a printer and mobile phone.
Person specification:
• Have high levels of literacy and numeracy skills, be computer literate and proficient in the use of word processing and spreadsheets. Internet access is essential.
• Be well organised, capable of working independently and using own initiative, have the ability to prioritise workload and work within agreed and legal timeframes but also be able to work collaboratively with a team.
• Have excellent communication skills, both written and oral, and must possess and be able to demonstrate professional and constructive communication skills with Councillors, members of the public, contractors and other public and private sector organisations.
• Be trustworthy with confidential information.
• Be able to attend evening meetings and demonstrate flexibility around the Council’s requirements.
Salary: £14.89 per hour
Hours: 12 hours per week
